Getting To the Venue
Travelling from Cork Airport
Cork airport is 14 miles from Fota Island Resort and 5 miles from Cork city center.
Taxi is the easiest option for travel between Cork airport and the wedding venue or your hotel. There is a rank outside the airport A taxi to Cork city centre should take 15 mins and cost you around €20. A taxi to the venue should take 30 mins and cost around €40.
Alternatively, the 226 bus from the Airport will take you to Parnell Place in Cork city (if you are staying in Cork) or Kent train station (if you are going to the venue) for €2.50.
Travelling from Dublin Airport or Dublin City
Train: The train is the quickest way to travel from Dublin to Cork city. A direct train takes 2.5 hours. Trains leave from Heuston station Dublin and arrive at Kent Station Cork. The trains can be very expensive if you pay at the station, so we would highly recommend you book online in advance.
Coach: The cheapest way to get to Cork city is by coach. There are four companies travelling between the cities - GoBus, Aircoach, Bus Eireann and Dublin Coach. The buses terminate in either St Patrick's Quay or Parnell Place in Cork city. They depart from Dublin airport and various points around Dublin city.
Car: M8 takes you onto the N25 East and follow the signs for Fota Wildlife Park.
Travelling to the Wedding venue from Cork City
A taxi from Cork city to the venue takes 20 minutes and costs about €30
Alternatively, wedding guests can take the Cobh/Middleton train to Glounthaune, this is two stops and costs €2.50 (11 mins). Fota Island Resort will bring guests to the venue from Glounthaune train station.
Travelling to Cork from the UK
Flights are now available. You can fly into Cork directly using Ryanair (Stansted/Gatwick), Aer Lingus and British Airways (Heathrow).

Accommodation
We only have a limited number of hotel rooms allocated to our guests at a discounted rate. We will allocate these to family first and then on a first come first served basis.
